Sign of respect to the victims of MH370

First i would like to offer my condolences to all the MH370 plane crash victim families & friends, may their soul rest in peace.

some immature idiots are getting upset over many events, concerts, parties etc has being postponed and some even got canncelled due to this heartbreaking incident.

we'll this is not something new, its common that the governments takes such decisions as sign of respect to the victims. Its basic, don't tell me you will have a party in your house knowing there is a funeral next door, Right?

And there is another bunch of fools asking why only concerts & parties are being canceled why F1 is still on, its seems unfair to them ...Seriously? are you that stupid ? F1 is Sport moron ...

there were more, im just to lazy to copy all of em
- use that thing in your skull, whatever you have left there, use it -

- FYI -
Formula One organizers were to meet later Tuesday to discuss a possible tribute to victims at this weekend’s event.

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, who arrived in the Malaysian capital earlier, said on Twitter that “all my prayers go to friends & families of the passengers on # MH370″.

Malaysia will also host a Euro Asia Cup golf tournament and the prestigious Laureus sports awards this week.

Laureaus World Sports Academy, which will honor last year’s top sports figures Wednesday, said it would have a reduced programme because of the disaster.

Open Deck Base Jump

The world’s most extreme sporting event – the KL Tower BASE Jump 2012 – is back in Malaysia this September 27th – 30th, at Menara Kuala Lumpur! For those of you who are still unfamiliar with this event, it is the only official BASE Jump event in the world.

More than 100 international BASE jumpers will be showcasing thrilling acts for the visitors of Menara Kuala Lumpur. Professionals from 20 countries gathered for the opportunity to hurl themselves into the sky before parachuting down to earth during the event.

Come and watch these daredevils take the dive from the top of KL Tower. Let’s just hope they don't forget the chute. This event has become a 'must attend' sports meet for the top names in the world of B.A.S.E (Building, Antenna, Span and Earth) Jumping and Skydiving.

Once again, Menara Kuala Lumpur is offering exclusive tickets to the Open Deck in conjunction with the jump. I love everything about this sport as it is fun experience not to be missed to watch the jumpers prepare themselves for their jump off the top of one of the tallest towers in the world.

Security Breach at Blizzard

To all Battle.net account holders, now might be a good time to change your account password. In a post from the Blizzard website, Blizzard President Mike Morhaine said that a network breach was detected this week.

However, Blizzard found no evidence to suggest that user account information has been compromised, although a list of email addresses for global Battle.net users excluding China was accessed.  In addition, the answer to the personal security question and information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators were also accessed. Finally, “cryptographically scrambled versions” of Battle.net passwords (not actual passwords) for players on North American (which includes Malaysian players) servers were taken.

However, unlike the lax security measures taken by both Amazon and Apple, the information that were accessed are not enough for hackers to gain access to individual accounts. Blizzard uses Secure Remote Password protocol (SRP) to protect these passwords, which is designed to “make it extremely difficult to extract the actual password, and also means that each password would have to be deciphered individually”.
Therefore, while there is a high chance that these Battle.net accounts might not be hacked into, some preventive measures such as changing your account passwords will eliminate the chances of your account being hacked completely.

WCG ASIA 2012

The WCG Asian Championship has long been one of the most awaited events for the Southeast Asia competitive gaming community since its inception back in 2007. After been held in Singapore (for four straight years) and Indonesia, the regional tournament will finally take place in Malaysia for the first time.

The event is scheduled to take place on 8 to 9 September 2012 alongside WCG 2012 Malaysia Championship at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The banner has listed  :
Counter-Strike: Online (CS: O),
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO),
World of Tanks (WoT),
StarCraft 2
Dota 2

However, one of the biggest titles in WCG - EA Sports’ FIFA – somehow does not appear to be in the banner. Is this means that FIFA’12 will not be featured at WCG Malaysia 2012? If that is going to be the case, we are pretty sure there will be a lot of unhappy gamers around.

if you are planning to participate in the WCG 2012 Malaysia Championship, make sure to bookmark my.wcg.com in your Internet browser to stay updated.

Alienware Game Victorious Battlegrounds

Alienware has recently announced a huge online game tournament called the Alienware Game Victorious Battlegrounds that will take place very soon at its own gaming portal, Alienware Arena. The tournament which is open to gamers in seven countries - Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia (of course) - are separated to five different games: Dota 2, Dragon Nest, FIFA Online 2, League of Legends and Team Fortress 2.

For Malaysia and Singapore gamers, they will be competing in the same arena and top eight teams from each games will be able to proceed to the tournament’s Malaysia-Singapore regional finals in which cash prizes of around RM 73,000 (USD 23,000) will be up for grabs. However, things will be a little bit challenging for Dota 2 though as the teams will have to go through a 32-teams playoff before they are able to proceed to the regional finals.

Bon Odori Festival

Obon (お盆?) or just Bon (?) is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist-Confucian custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.
The festival of Obon lasts for three days; however its starting date varies within different regions of Japan. When the lunar calendar was changed to the Gregorian calendar at the beginning of the Meiji era, the localities in Japan reacted differently and this resulted in three different times of Obon. "Shichigatsu Bon" (Bon in July) is based on the solar calendar and is celebrated around 15 July in eastern Japan (Kantō region such as Tokyo, Yokohama and the Tohoku region), coinciding with Chūgen. "Hachigatsu Bon" (Bon in August) is based on the lunar calendar, is celebrated around the 15th of August and is the most commonly celebrated time. "Kyu Bon" (Old Bon) is celebrated on the 15th day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, and so differs each year. "Kyu Bon" is celebrated in areas like the northern part of the Kantō region, Chūgoku region, Shikoku, and the Ryukyu Islands
