BYE BYE ELTON JOHN

"No more shows, no more music, no more songs"

On Tuesday, July 15, on stage at the Festival de Carcassonne in France, Elton John announced the end of his career. The British artist surprised the audience during the third song of the show, “Candle in the Wind,” by announcing his plans to retire and spend more time with his family.

The 67-year-old artist, who has sold nearly 250 million albums worldwide during his career of over 40 years, is scheduled to play several concerts across Europe before the end of 2014. This is not the first time the performer has made statements regarding his possible retirement, and for the time being there is no indication on whether he will actually cancel upcoming shows.

Read Through How to play Fighting games

Intended to provide players with the correct mindset for playing any sort of fighting game.

Extremely simple to follow and the author avoids using too many words that may end up confusing anyone not familiar with these sorts of games.

What’s in the book?

One of the reasons it’s hard to learn how to play fighting games is because there isn’t really a set curriculum or lesson plan. The Primer is basically my way of doing that, and I spend most of the book teaching you how to play a specific character in a specific game: Ryu in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Street Fighter II Ryu is the Adam of fighting games; learn how to play him, and you’ll learn a set of basic skills that you can adapt to any other fighting game.

Here’s a chapter listing:

Why You Should Learn How To Play Street Fighter
Everything You Need to Know About Fighting Games
Beginner Execution
Simplifying Street Fighter
Intro to Combos
Eleven Tips for Not Sucking at Street Fighter
Don’t Want No Scrubs
Introducing Street Fighter IV
The Warrior’s Path

GUNDAM DUEL COMPANY

Fans of Japanese mecha will be happy to hear that the latest card game based on the venerable Gundam series has gone into the open beta stage. Gundam Duel Company is a hybrid card game which has players buying packs of cards in order to collect new units to be used in the web browser based arena. The open beta phase means that players have the opportunity to buy starter packs of cards known as Trial Decks to play the game.

The game is designed around the collectible model of buying randomised packs of cards in order to build a ‘deck’ to be played against opponents. Unlike most card games, battles are completely automated in the browser; and players are mainly left devising the most suitable lineup of Mobile Suits and Pilots. There is some input during the actual battle as players are required to decide which abilities on their pilots to use; although they cannot decide when to use them.
